Three issues in science-related technology

This paper discusses how certain commonly held attitudes toward the use of science and technology, and the thinking on which these attitudes are based, appear to lag behind the advances of the 1990s. Some courses of action appear to be overlooked or prematurely rejected based on bias, or on incomplete analysis or logic. Examples from manned space flight, the asteroid threat, and missile defense illustrate this situation.
