An Empirical Study on the Growth of Rural Human Capital in China

This paper studied the influences of main factors on the rural human capital accumulation in China with application of multiple logarithm econometric model based on statistic data of years from 1993-2007. It is concluded that scale of rural population, ratio of female people and level of economic development have passive affects on the growth of rural human capital, and national investment of education, situation of rural public health infrastructure and peasants investment in rural area have active affects. The authors suggest that the governments should strictly control population growth, vigorously propaganda the progressive ideas of gender equality, provide rural areas with more human capital investment, actively develop the new rural cooperative medical system, and encourage farmers to invest in individual human capital.
