摘要：

Chitrakut Formation of the Mesoproterozoic Semri Group is exposed in and around Chitrakut Town, Banda District, Uttar Pradesh and Satna District, Madhya Pradesh. The normal stratigraphic sequence of Semri Group is interrupted at Lodhwara, Sangrampur-Kamtanath and Muradpur hill sections in the Chitrakut subbasin due to vertical and lateral facies variations. Impact of relative sea-level fluctuations, low clastic sediment input and uneven topography have controlled the deposition of these lithounits in shallow subtidal - peritidal environmental complexes, dominantly in intertidal settings.
