Determination of trace metal levels in Mytilus galloprovincialis collected from Izmir Bay, Turkey

摘要
Some trace metal concentrations (Cu, Fe, Mg, Pb, Zn) have been measured in Mediterranean mussel, Mytilus galloprovincialis, collected from inner Izmir Bay, Aegean Sea of Turkey, between spring and summer 2003/2004. Mussels were collected from three stations. A statistically significant difference in the concentrations of all metals was observed among three sampling stations and between the years. The minimum and maximum metal concentrations in three stations varied in the following ranges: Cu, 0.18-2.98, 1.23-15.76; Fe, 21.37-143.50, 21.32-87.29; Mg, 224.11-743.26, 226.10-674. 97; Pb, 1.09-6.11, 1.02-4.94 and Zn, 55.95-300.88, 153.33-482.74 mg kg(-1), from 2003 to 2004, respectively.
