摘要
An optical fiber sensor for the detection of gaseous oxygen is presented. It uses a fluorescent indicator as sensing element and the phase-modulation technique as interrogation method. Tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenantroline)ruthenium(II) hexafluorophosphate, which shows a large absorption band in the visible spectrum centered at about 470 nm and emits radiation at about 610 rim, is used as fluorescent indicator. The sensor has been characterized at many LED modulation frequencies. Furthermore, calibration curves of the sensor at the best frequency, that is 71 KHz, are presented.
