Use of the method of finite elements for the evaluation of elastic properties of refractory compositions

摘要
The use of the method of finite elements has made it possible to model the elastic behavior of a cubic elementary cell containing nonisometric inclusions. A system of alumomagnesia spinel and mullite has been used for determining the moduli of elasticity of compositions experimentally and analytically. The method provides an adequate description of the behavior of binary eutectic compositions under the action of a mechanical load and predicts their elastic properties and heat resistance.
