Using the Internet to manage an undergraduate interdisciplinary design course

摘要：
The management and delivery of an interdisciplinary design course for engineering undergraduates has been significantly enhanced via a dedicated website. The site supports an interactive database for course management, reporting mechanisms for monitoring student progress, communication facilities, an area for support documentation and a delivery point for course assessments. The website was successfully launched in September 1999. An overview of the site structure and content is presented. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the website is made based upon feedback received. Subsequent site developments and enhancements are described in preparation for its re-launch in September 2000.
