Implementation of energy management system for an Integrated Steel Plant

摘要
This paper presents the design and implementation aspects of a novel, triangular Computerised Energy Management System for Integrated Steel Plants. The project addresses triangular issues of Energy Monitoring, Modelling gr. Optimisation and Intelligent operator Guidance for achieving optimum energy performance in the plant. The paper discusses in brief the design philosophy, hardware and software development strategies, implementation methodologies and benefit realisation. It also brings out how the advanced features of man-machine interface, Intelligent System Technologies, Management Information Systems and Energy Planning have helped in the successful implementation of the project. The technology is now ready for wider application in Integrated steel Plants in India and abroad.
