摘要
Nowadays, traditional cutting tool providers are prolonging their business chains by integrating intangible cutting services with physical cutting tools as a cutting tool iPSS. However, the cutting tool service quality and profit depend on the accuracy of tool condition monitoring (TCM). Then, a TCM-iPSS model is proposed to enable successful cutting tool services. The TCM-iPSS model is composed of configuration layer, equipment layer, data acquisition layer, information processing layer and service layer. Two service procedures are respectively designed for product-oriented mode and use-oriented mode. Roles involved in the procedures are also addressed. A prototype is developed to illustrate the cutting tool service scenarios. This work contributes to the product-oriented and use-oriented TCM-iPSS and narrows the gap between the concept of TCM-iPSS and its implementations. It can be a valuable reference for further development and application of TCM-iPSS.
