Function Orientation of Regional Rail Transit in Different Urban Development Pattern

Since urbanization and economic globalization is speeding up, the rapid expansion of cities and surrounding satellite towns has become a trend with universal meaning, forming metropolitan circles and inter-city areas. A new regional unit needs different forms of transport links. The construction of regional railway lines in some big cities abroad is often for the purpose of reasonably guiding the urban expansion, while at present there is a lack of a suitable transportation system between high-speed railway, intercity line, and metro lines in China. Based on the principle that regional transit needs to play the role of cohesion and outreach, this paper studies the transportation network based on the urban form, so as to determine different function orientation and guide the key technical indicators of regional transit.
