摘要
There is a famous phrase by Robert Paxton: "Vichy prefers pregnant women, wearing slippers, busy in the kitchen". This article is a short analysis of the "right" place for women in public life. But ambiguities still remain: the double language, the double game played by the architects of the "National Revolution" are solidly rooted in people's minds concerning the employment of women whom the country needs more and more, the education and attendance of girls at school, political policies regarding family and health. Between 1940 and 1945, the influence of women in the public sector is more and more limited.
