摘要
This paper presents the architecture of an object-oriented design for assembly system. In the automatic generation of assembly sequences module of the system each component of the product assembly is considered an object. Its private data field (instance variable) is the component number which is initialized by a constructor (an operation that creates an object and/or initializes its state). Assembly state of the part is a public data field. The system is also connected to an object-oriented database that uses multiple inheritance and virtual functions for automatic assessment of cost effectiveness, productivity, and design efficiency associated with each feasible assembly sequence.
