摘要
A field experiment was conducted during rainy season (kharif) of 1996-98 to study the response of onion (Allium cepa L.) to integrated application of nitrogen and farmyard manure and work out optimum requirement of these for maximizing net returns at Navgaon (Alwar). Average weight/bulb and bulb yield increased significantly up to N 120 kg/ha and farmyard manure 10 tonnes/ha. However, the maximum net returns and benefit : cost ratio were recorded with N application a 150 kg/ha and farmyard manure application @ 10 tonnes/ha. When the bulb yield was described as quadratic function of N x F, a combination of 148.88 kg N + 9.13 tonnes farmyard manure/ha cultivation was found to be an optimum requirement of N and farmyard manure for maximizing returns from the cultivation of rainy-season onion.
