摘要
Based on a case-control study comparing patients with or without invasive aspergillosis infection, treated for acute myeloid leukemia, we studied survival and costs associated with aspergillosis infection. Consumed resources were valued according to both the perspectives of the hospital and of the French Sickness Funds. Mean survival of patients with aspergillosis infection was three months shorter than for patients without infection (during the first year). Extra-costs associated with aspergillosis infection, related to a longer mean length of stay during the index hospitalization of 9.2 days, were estimated at 30.000 FF and 37.000 FF according to the hospital and Sickness Fund perspectives respectively. An exploratory economic modeling of aspergillosis infection prophylaxis was pet-formed using the results of the case-control study and available published clinical data. Cost-effectiveness ratio was estimated at 125.000 FF per life year pined. This ratio is in the range of widely used and accepted standard therapies.
