摘要
Instead of being the final paper in my LOS series on pre-natal communication, this paper really should have been the first one. As things stand now, rather than an introduction to lay the foundations of my thesis, the facts I am to present here will serve as a anal proof of its validity. For the new members of our association, I may be permitted to reformulate my thesis. If ontogeny repeats phylogeny (which is not certain but a reasonable hypothesis), in looking for the origin of human language, we should not limit ourselves to searching for parallels in the language development of the child, but start by examining the communicative development of the fetus. The paper to be presented deals with the development of the child's personality during the pre-natal period. It will show that a child's peculiar individual personality and body rhythm acquired in utero continue alter birth. Human communication is verbal and non-verbal from its inception in the maternal womb. As I said in an earlier meeting, if we posit that a non-verbal phase precedes vocalization, we have to explain when and how and for what reason the verbal component is added. Mother-child communication during the fetal stage already manifests both components.
