Study on Complex Event Processing for CPS: An Event Model Perspective

摘要
As an emerging technology approved in areas of database and business processing, CEP (Complex Event Process) faced challenges when applied in critical areas like CPS. Based on analysis such challenges from three aspects: event model definition, event semantic interoperability and event pattern matching, a semantic enhanced event model for CPS is proposed. While existing efforts have mainly focused on investigating a uniform CPS event representation with spatiotemporal attributes, our event model composed by two-layer structure, Basic Event Model (BEM) and Extended Information Set (EIS). A BEM could be extended with EIS by semantic adaptor for attribution semantic enhancement. In particular, we define the event process functions, like event attribution extraction and composition determination, for CPS action trigger exploit the CEP engine Esper. Examples show that such event model provides several advantages in terms of extensibility, flexibility and heterogeneous support, and lay the foundations of event-based system design in CPS.
