Numerical modeling of moist leeward waves

A two-dimensional nonlinear nonhydrostatic nonstationary model is proposed to calculate the flow of moist air over an inhomogeneous surface. The starting equations of a compressible gas are transformed so as to exactly approximate the nonlinear problem at small Mach numbers. The formation of clouds and precipitation during air flow past an ellipsoidal obstacle is studied using the calculation method proposed. The effect of humidity on flow dynamics is discussed.
