摘要
Queen are considered one of the most successful rock bands in the history of British rock music and several of their albums and singles have enjoyed sustained runs in the charts throughout the world. While this group have occasionally been underestimated due to their extravagance and to a supposedly outdated musical style, their records now appear as undeniably representative of the sound of the 1970s and the 1980s by encapsulating a variety of influences and sub-genres of popular music. In addition, the band's ability to mirror-even involuntarily-profound evolutions within British society at the time may help see Queen as historically relevant beyond their mere contribution to the world of rock music.
