摘要
Since ITU(International Telecommunication Union) started to study the next generation Internet architecture such as NGN(Next Generation Network) a couple of years ago, the need to develop a new Internet interconnection and network usage scheme has been growing. Introduced first, in this study, is a necessity to develop an effective framework for NGN usage charging. We start with presenting an technical architecture of NGN for enabling an end-to-end QoS(Quality of Service) platform with committed SLA(Service Level Agreement) among NPs(Network Providers; e.g., ISPs and telcos) and SPs(Service Providers; e.g., VoIP(Voice over IP) and web portals). Furthermore, special emphasis is given to identifying key economic factors for establishing a viable and efficient solution so that it can create a promising marketplace for the next generation Internet.
