The General Idea of Physical Education Curriculum Reform in Independent Colleges

With reference to relevant literature and the actual experiences of PE teaching management, the necessity of the physical education curriculum reform in independent colleges is highlighted. Existing problems of the physical education curriculum reform in independent colleges are revealed in the paper, such as blind replica of the inherent system of Maternal Universities which leads to the "highly similarity" among colleges in physical education. Besides, the construction of sports ground facilities is insufficient from the needs; PE teacher qualities require further improvement; the overall structural contradiction exists among courses. As the construction resources of physical education in independent colleges are limited, the reform prospect is still far from being satisfactory. Thus, the comparative advantages of the sustainable development of independent colleges should be reasonably grasped and used so as to provide opportunities and conditions for the breakthroughs of the plight of the curriculum reform. Finally, the general idea of physical education reform for independent colleges was proposed. To be more specific, it includes, first, the insistence of the macro curriculum viewpoint and the integration and coordination of different physical activity systems for the construction of generalized PE Curriculum. Second, the differentiated philosophy shall be established to respect individual differences and make timely adjustment of course content, teaching methods, movement styles and other elements. The flexibility of teaching modes shall be highlighted. Third, the physical education shall be highlighted to inspire the passion of sports among students so that students can change from receivers to practitioners. Fourth, the reform of curriculum management system shall be implemented to provide institutional guarantee for physical education practices in independent colleges.
