摘要
This Chapter provides a brief retrospective of how technological innovation affects and improves medical practices. It is claimed that Information Society Technologies (IST) will continue to foster radical changes in medical telematics provided that basic requirements such as quality, security, liability, interoperability, etc., become the prime design and development targets in eHealth. Moreover, as new technologies mature, Universal Access will increasingly become a predominant quality factor in medical informatics.
