摘要
The text deals with the issue of cultural diversity and its resonances in the doctrine of tolerance, from Habermas' perspective. According to Habermas, religious tolerance is a pacemaker for understanding cultural diversity, in agreement with a tolerant perspective. In this regard, there is a refusal of a strong multiculturalism that defends culture as a rights-bearing entity. Such a refusal is due to the fact that it violates fundamental human rights to choice. Following, the text points to democracy as the appropriate means for establishing the boundaries of tolerance and intolerance.
