摘要
An experimental investigation was carried out to study the mechanical and fracture characteristics of two steel-carbon hybrid fibre reinforced concrete mixtures, produced with two different dispersion agents. Low volume contents of short chopped carbon fibres can improve the flexural strength at the initiation of the first crack (LOP) due to the rather high elastic modulus. Carbon fibre can enhance both strength and toughness of concrete in the pre-ultimate range. Compared to carbon fibres, steel fibres have lower tensile strength and higher ductility. Hence, steel fibre additions mainly improve the concrete toughness in the post-ultimate range. Advantages can be expected of steel-fibre hybrid reinforcement in concrete, since strength and toughness will be improved in the pre- and post ultimate ranges. This can transform the concrete into a high performance composite.
