Researches concerning the phenotypic correlations in Tsurcana breed from SCFibis SA-Timis county

Researches were made at S.S.Fibis S.A, Timis County on 33 Tsurcana rams, 100 mother ewes and 100-young ewes. In rams between body weight and wool production there is a positive correlation of +0.65 and between body weight and fleece length also is a positive correlation but much lower of only 0.1+ Between wool production of the ram's and fleece length, the correlation is low and negative -0.01. In mother ewes, only between body weight and wool production the correlation is highly positive of +0.94. For the other two pairs of characters, body weight x fleece length and wool production x fleece length, correlations are low and negative, 0.07 and -0.05 respectively. In young ewe's between body Weight and wool production correlation is positive and moderate +0.42, while between body weight and fleece length the correlation is negative -0.03. The characters with a strong and positive correlation can be selected in the same time.
