摘要
Recent advances in relating superstring theory with dimension 4 via exotic smooth geometries on Euclidean R-4 are reviewed. The string theory backgrounds and some configurations of Neveu-Schwarz and Dirichlet branes describe exotic open 4-smoothness. This serves as a link to 4D physics.
