Catalytic decomposition of 2-butanol and cyclohexanol using copper aluminate

摘要
Copper aluminate prepared by co-precipitation method catalyses the decomposition of 2-butanol and cyclohexanol. 2-Butanol undergoes only dehydrogenation reaction. Cyclohexanol is decomposed to form cyclohexanone, cyclohexene, hydrogen and water. The effects of temperature and contact time have been studied. Energy of activation has been calculated from the Arrhenius plot.
