Research on call admission control mechanism in UMTS core network

摘要
In Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS), quality of service (QoS) is a hot issue, not only in the part of radio access, but also in the core network (CN) because the class and structure of services in 3G network are different from other networks. In this paper, the problem of call admission control (CAC) in UMTS core network has been researched. According to four kinds of traffic classes defined in 3GPP specification, and combing with the method of queuing analysis, many kinds of traffic has been analyzed. Then a CAC algorithm has been put forward. In the paper, this algorithm also. has been tested in simulating experiment The results show that the algorithm is available.
