摘要
Because the rig tree is highly resistant to salinity and active calcium, it is a quite appropriate tree species for marginal areas as Southeastern Spain. Since the fig tree shows a high biodiversity, further research is needed regarding its pomological characterization. The cultivars Colar, Florancha, Tio Antonio y Gobernador were morphologically and chemically analysed. All 4 varieties were similarly grown. Data analysis showed that gobernador figs were the largest ones. The highest juice content was yielded by the cultivars Colar (second crop) and Gobernador (first crop). Furthermore, all cultivars were appropriate for fresh market consumption, being Colar the best of all.
