摘要
The content of leading parenting resources was coded to determine the extent to which they oppose physical punishment. Three fourths of the resources presented information in opposition to physical punishment, but the topic was given scant attention and little information was included that could deter parents from engaging in physical punishment. Child abuse professionals, among others who work with high risk families, should be aware that these resources are unlikely to persuade against physical punishment, a significant precursor to child physical abuse.
