Fulminant hepatic failure has diverse causes, and is associated with an exceptionally high mortality rate. The majority of patients do not survive, unless they receive a liver allograft. A multidisciplinary approach, early prognostication, and rapid. availability of a donor organ are essential requirements for a successful outcome.
