Anxiety disorders in epilepsy and cognitive behavioural therapy

The study deals with anxiety disorders in epilepsy patients. The panic attack disorder but also anxiety seizures as ictal phenomenon during the epilepsy seizure are described. Next topic is the generalised anxiety in epilepsy patients which is conceived as inter-ictal anxiety between particular epilepsy seizures. The cognitive behavioural model of the origin of panic disorder and generalised anxiety disorder is also described. In the second part, the study deals with the content of education about the origin of anxiety in epilepsy patients, describes the modalities of this behaviour in cognitive, emotional, and behavioural fields and exploits the laws of learning and conditioning for this goal. The last part is devoted to cognitive behavioural methods in the therapy of anxiety disorders in epilepsy patients.
