摘要
The continuous enlargement of fault current has a significant influence on the stability and safety of power system. A resistive superconducting fault current limiter was investigated to be an effective way to solve the problem in the former work. In this structure, short circuit current will be transferred to parallel reactor side after superconducting coil quenches. Besides, a vacuum interrupter driven by a repulsion mechanism was applied to cut off the short circuit current through superconducting coil within 10ms. The objective of this paper is to investigate the current transferring characteristic from superconducting coil to a parallel reactor, in which the current in the superconducting coil branch is interrupted by a vacuum interrupter within a short arcing time. In the experiment, a second generation YBCO superconducting wire was investigated. Test results showed that it can transfer the current to parallel reactor within 1ms. Then, with a 12kV vacuum interrupter, interruption experiment showed that vacuum interrupter can reliably interrupt the short circuit current with short arcing time (within 3ms) and various opening velocity. At the same time, superconducting coil can recover to superconducting state within 250ms.
