摘要
Threonine uptake in Escherichia coli wild-type and in threonine-producing strains decreased throughout threonine production. In contrast to previously published results, the SstT uptake system is not the sole serine/threonine permease in E. coli, since a novel transport system was detected in an sstT deletion strain.
