GPU-Accelerated Octree Encoding Ray Casting Algorithm

In order to guarantee the rendering speed and the image quality, we propose a ray casting algorithm based on GPU-Accelerated. The algorithm utilizes the tri-linear interpolation function which is taken by graphic hardware itself, to achieve the sampling and interpolation of time consuming. It makes space leaping during the sampling process to implement drawing acceleration. The results show that the algorithm guarantees the high quality image drawing. At the same time it will improve rendering speed 95 times with little storage capacity increase. Thus the GPU real-time rendering based on massive volume data will become true with this algorithm.
