Power Transfer Efficiency Analysis of the 4-coil Wireless Power Transfer System Based on Circuit Theory and Coupled-mode Theory

摘要
Based on coupled-mode theory and circuit theory, this paper presents theoretical analysis of the power transfer efficiency for the 4-coil wireless power transfer system presented by scholars in Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The theoretical analysis results indicate that the coupled-mode theory and circuit theory can lead to the exact same set of formulas and optimal solutions in the power transfer efficiency calculation of the 4-coil wireless power transfer system despite the using of different parameters and terminologies. Models and simulation for the 4-coil wireless power transfer system are developed using Matlab/Simulink, and simulation results show the feasibility of the theoretical analysis.
