摘要
The deterioration of tomatoes due to the effect of fungi has been recognized as a source of possible danger to the health of humans and animals. Datura stramonium has high antifungal activity, due to the presence of tropanic alkaloids. In this work the activity of the extracts from the flower and the seed of the plant Datum stramonium is evaluated, measuring the diameter of the growth halo of a native tomato fungus in a solid PDA medium enriched with 10 microliters of extract. The percentages of inhibition were 90% for the extract of the flower and 100% for the extract of the seed, since day 2 of the test. In order to identify the chemical nature of the metabolites that are antifungal activity, the results with liquid chromatography HPLC / UV, and IR spectrophotometry. This study confirmed that the extracted metabolites were seeds or flowers.
