Contribution to the serodiagnosis of Lyme borreliosis in dogs

摘要：
These investigations compared serological methods for detection of Lyme borreliosis antibody titres in dog sera. Four different test kits were used, including the classical two-step methods based on ELISA and confirmation of positive samples by blot, as well as a rapid test and an ELISA based on C6 antigen. Up to 561 dog sera were investigated. It was shown that the results were influenced considerably by the selected test kits and the included antigen preparation. The investigations highlight that results in the lab should be interpreted with care and only in connection with anamnesis and clinical findings.
