摘要：
A method is proposed for growing large alpha-Sn single crystals without their disintegration as a result of the beta --> alpha phase transition. alpha-Sn crystals are prepared by freezing the closed system water-Sn-seed in such a way that the pressure exerted by the expanding ice minimizes the amount of alpha-Sn nuclei and reduces the growth rate.
