Lamb wave front-back scatter method for estimating delamination size in composite structures

摘要
This paper introduces a new structural health monitoring (SHM) method for quantifying damage size in composite structures base on the Lamb wave scattering phenomena around damage boundary. The paper describes the scheme and summarizes the damage quantification results from a series of composite test articles after impact damage. SHM results are compared with the results from the conventional non-destructive inspection methods.
