摘要
The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of demographic variables on leisure participation of university students. With the day-time students of Tainan area universities as subjects, and using survey instruments for data collection, 1,600 surveys were distributed and 1,345 valid surveys were returned for a rate of 84.1%. The returned data was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and multiple regression with dummy variables. The results showed that participants have highest degree of leisure participation on the outdoor dimension. The regression of the five dummy variables separately with the mechanical, physical and social dimensions of leisure participation each reached significant level. There was a higher degree of the mechanical dimension for leisure participation for males than for females, and for ages 20 and 21 than ages 19 and below. There was a higher degree of the physical dimension of leisure participation for males than for females, and for ages 20, 21 and 22 than ages 19 and below. There was a higher degree of the social dimension of leisure participation for ages 19 and below than for ages 20 and 24.
