摘要
The results of the OECD PISA measurements show that the tested pupils in the Slovak Republic, when compared to OECD countries, reach significantly lower performance in reading, mathematical and scientific literacy. The Slovak Government decided to take action to increase the primary education efficiency in the Slovak Republic, which resulted in the school reform of 2008. However, when we evaluated our research results from 2012 and compared them with the OECD PISA results we came to the finding that the educational reform did not contribute to achieving better performance in the monitored testing [5], [6]. We found that the failure rate of lower secondary learners is significantly affected by their insufficiently developed spatial imagination. This paper is devoted to the opportunities of educating learners with the support of ICT that can develop their reading comprehension, their ability to perceive space, manipulate objects in space, and create graphic representations of perceived objects.
