A framework of Successful Supply Chain Management

Today's environment of short lead times, tight delivery schedules, and dramatically increased product variety puts ever-increasing pressure on an enterprise's supply chain. Enterprises that can effectively align their supply chain management with their overall business strategy can create substantial competitive advantage improving both the top and bottom line. Successful supply chain management requires cross-functional integration and marketing must play a critical role. The challenge is to determine how to successfully accomplish this integration. This paper presents a framework for supply chain management as well as strategies for how it might be implemented. The results will help further in providing greater understanding of the success factors that lead to successful implementation of supply chain management strategies to reduce supply chain wide costs and to improve customer service levels.
