摘要：

The research note attempts to compare the law enforcement work of the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) to that of its predecessor, the National Crime Squad, within the context of the extra financial resources given to the former. In so doing it raises interesting questions about the efficiency of the SOCA and the usefulness of official annual reports in the process of accountability.
