摘要
With the increasing penetration of the plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) market, the number of vehicles charging on the electric grid is also going to increase. This will in turn have a drastic impact on the electric grid stability and demand, especially for uncontrolled charging scenarios. Uncontrolled charging will lead to increased residential peak demand, and time-of-use utility rate schemes are likely to cause a significant increase in the amount of ramping in the demand. It is expected that the majority of charging will occur at home during nighttime hours, and controlling at home charging will be vital to mitigating the impact of PEVs on the grid. This paper evaluates the impacts on feeder demand and grid voltage instability due to PEV uncontrolled versus controlled charging
