A hollow-fiber module with an effective area of 1705 cm(2) was constructed and tested for the removal of acetone from air. Hollow fibers were made of polyetherimide and used without silicone rubber coating. it was found that acetone could be effectively removed when the residence time of the nitrogen stream in the module was sufficiently long. A set of equations was used for computer simulation of the module. The calculated values agreed very well with the experimental ones.
