摘要
The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the Primary Health Care as a top priority for improving the global population health in recent decades. With the updated targets in Astana 2018, urged the Member States to invest in Primary Health Care to confront the current challenges in the field. With the proclamation of 2020 as the ".ear of Nurses and Midwifes" WHO wanted to highlight their important role in this goal. The aim of this review article is to describe the situation in Greece, compared to other European countries, in the staffing of the health care system in nursing and midewifes and at the same time to present the main legal initiatives of the last decade for the Primary Health Care. In addition, to critically assess their role after the latest legislative reform of the Primary Health Care in the country and to compare them with international best practices, proposing the adoption of some of them for further improvement of the Primary Health Care in Greece.
