NK model analysis for business model innovation

Business model has drawn widely attention in management study and practice since last decade. According to the mesoscopic approach to business model, we consider business model as a complex system and analyze business model innovation using NK model approach. The analysis of the simulation results of business model fitness landscape shows that the characteristics of a. business model are relative to the complexity of a business model. Thus, business model innovation is not only necessary but also possible. According to the relations between the characteristics and the complexity of a business model, we also develop some strategies for business model innovation by classifying business model innovation into architectural innovation, modular innovation and so on.
