User Experience of Smartphone: Scale Development and Validation

User experience of smart phone is conceptualized as when users interact with the device to accomplish desired outcomes, the sensations, feelings, cognitions, and behavioral responses evoked by task performance and device related stimuli that are part of device's design such as hardware, software, and appearance. Based on this definition, a scale that includes six dimensions, i.e., usability, multimedia, system help, somatosensory, visual, and affect, is developed and validated. The results of two field studies indicate that the scale has good internal consistency reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. The results also indicate that user experience of mobile device affects user loyalty through the mediation of user satisfaction, which is an evidence of nomological validity.
