For a non-zero algebraic integer alpha, let DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Q(alpha) denote the simple extension of the field of rational numbers DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Q. DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Z[alpha] is the smallest subring of DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Q(alpha) containing both DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Z and alpha. In this article, we present an account for testing irreducibility of a given polynomial with coefficients in DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Z[alpha] over the field DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Q(alpha).
