摘要
The effect Ag addition on the glass-forming ability (GFA) and crystallization behavior was investigated in Mg65Cu25-xAgxY10(x=0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25) alloys by differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry. Partial substitution of Cu by Ag in Mg65Cu25Y10 enhances the glass-forming ability. The maximum diameters for bulk amorphous obtained by injection casting were 4 and 6 mm for Mg65CU25Y10 and Mg65CU15Ag10Y10 alloys respectively. The amorphous Mg65Cu25Y10 alloy crystallizes into a mixture of Mg2Cu, Cu2Y and MgY phases while amorphous Mg65CU15Ag10Y10 alloy crystallizes into a mixture of Mg3Ag and Cu2Y and Mg24Y5 phases.
